Andrew Parmalee, Recording Engineer
Andrew discovered his passion for music at the young age of 9 after being gifted a drumming practice pad for Christmas. Since then, he has great success in the field of music. As a mix and recording engineer, he has contributed to hundreds of projects for clients from all over Canada and in all styles of music including folk, metal, country, world, pop, rock, and musical theatre. Singles that Andrew has recorded and mixed have been recognized with numerous hours of air-time and awards.
He received honours in the Music Industry Arts diploma program in 2014 at Algonquin College, and was awarded the “Best Production” award out of 75 enrolled students. Shortly after, his mixes received regular air-time rotation on local radio stations; “LiVE 88.5" and "106.9 The Bear" (before it was changed to “Jump”). Andrew also coaches a weekly band program at the Barrhaven Music Academy which allows students to participate in a band environment, and supplies the bands with performance opportunities. In addition, he engineers and produces a Vocal Recording Workshop that places enrolled students in a professional studio environment, where they can record their vocals over their favourite songs.
Since the age of 11, Andrew has been playing and performing throughout Ontario in various bands as a drummer, bassist, guitarist and vocalist. He currently plays drums professionally in Punk/Grunge band; Crossing Jane and runs a recording studio (Fill The Void Studios) out of his own home in Ottawa.
